Phonics Screening

Schools have been asked to administer a phonics screening check for year 2 pupils in the autumn, after the June test was missed because of coronavirus.
Schools will administer “a past version of the check” to year 2 pupils “during the second half of the 2020 autumn term”.
“Year 2 pupils who meet the expected standard in the autumn check will not be required to complete any further statutory assessments in phonics. Year 2 pupils who do not meet the expected standard in the autumn check will be expected to take the statutory check in June 2021.”

Please support your child’s pleasure in reading. Bookbags should be brought in every day.

PE
All Year 2 children will have PE on Mondays - please come to school wearing your PE kit for the day.
Please ensure your child wears the appropriate kit.
· Red polo or T-shirt
· Navy blue shorts/ tracksuit bottoms
· Red sweatshirt
· Trainers
Please note: If your child forgets their PE kit, you will be asked to bring it in for them.
Children are not allowed to wear earrings during PE, so please take them out for Mondays.

Attendance & Punctuality
Please help your child come to school every day on time, to make the most of the teaching and learning. Remember the school doors open at 8.45am to give pupils time to get to their classroom and be ready to learn by 9am.
If your child is unable to attend school, please telephone the office on 0207 790 1490, before 9am, stating your child’s name and class and the reason for absence.
